ATHENS INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT “ELEFTHERIOS VENIZELOS” « NAFPLIO

A) BY BUS FROM/TO INTERCITY BUS STATION “KIFISOS”

Express Bus route X93 connects directly the Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos” with the Intercity Bus Station (KTEL) “Kifisos” approx. every 30’. Service is provided on a non-stop basis seven days a week including holidays (24/7 operation). All buses set down passengers at the Departures Level and depart from the Arrivals Level. Bus tickets are sold at the info/ticket-kiosk (located outside the Arrivals between Exits 4 and 5) or onboard (ask operator) at no extra cost. The journey takes approx. 45’ (depending on prevailing traffic conditions – allow sufficient time for your transfer from/to the airport). One-way ticket costs 6€. Official timetables here.

Taxi from the airport to the intercity bus station “Kifisos” costs 40€-45€.

If you are already in Athens:

Bus route 051 (circular route) connects the city center (intersection Zinonos and Menandrou streets, south of Omonoia square) with the intericty bus station “Kifisos” approx. every 15’. The journey takes approx. 20’ and one-way ticket costs 1.40€. Official timetables here.

Taxi from the city center (Sintagma square) to the intercity bus station “Kifisos” costs approx. 10€.

The Intercity Bus Station (KTEL) “Kifisos” is a major mus terminal. Look for the sign “Nafplio/Argolida” and buy your tickets there. The journey to Nafplio via Isthmos (Corinth) and Argos takes approx. 2h 10’ and costs 14.40€ (23€ return ticket). Official Timetables here.

Note for the itinerary Nafplio – Athens: The bus stops at metro station “Eleonas” (blue line) before it continues to the intercity bus station “Kifisos”. From Eleonas station you can reach the airport (make sure you get on the right train, not all of them run all the way to the airport).

B) BY TRAIN AND BUS FROM/TO CORINTH/ISTHMOS

Athens International Airport is connected via the Suburban Rail “Proastiakos” with the railway station “Korinthos” (Corinth) every 1h (change train at the railway station “Kato Acharnai”). The journey takes 1h 30’ and one-way ticket costs 12€. Official Timetables here.

Railway station “Korinthos” is 6km west of the bus stop “Isthmos” (Isthmus of Corinth) where the bus route Athens-Nafplio makes a stop. You can reach the bus stop via a taxi in approx. 10’ with approx. 10€.

The bus stop “Isthmos” is next to the canal (you will have the opportunity to admire the canal). The journey to Nafplio via Argos takes approx. 1h and costs 7.10€ (10€ return ticket). Official Timetables here.

Nafplio is 57km south of the railway station “Korinthos”. Taxi from the railway station to Nafplio costs 80€-90€.
